An unusual solar flare caused the creation of 'the gedoult', a nebulous sea that will crush ships that wander in to deep. Despide the hostile environment earth has managed to have several orbiting outposts near the gedoult. One of them is Liibe Delta wich serves both as an observation post for the gedoult, and a training facility for future astronauts and other personel.

Liibe Delta enters the gedoult on a planned observation mission only to find out it has been sabotaged. While Liibe Delta is sinking into the gedoult the students are forced to evacuate onto Ryvius, and experimental space ship. All instructors are either killed, or died because of their own heroic actions to protect both the ship and the students.

This leaves the students in control, or rather at the controls, of Ryvius. Most students are oblivious to what has occured and are fine with the quarters of Ryvius. The Zwei (senior class of students) is trying to manage Ryvius and head to earth. A group of ruffians led by Airs Blue takes over the bridge by force and instead of going to earth the Ryvius and its occupants are headed towards Mars.

Near Mars Ryvius gets attacked by another group, who ,what and why they dont know.

Infinite Ryvius (Mugen no Ryvius) is about more than a space ship out of control. It is about a group of teenagers, some are friends, some are siblings, that have to deal with every day life, the past and possible future. Sunrise animation studio has done an outstanding job in brining out the emotions and feelings of the characters without making this 'just another drama'.

Instead they were able to show how daily life and seemingly mundane circumstances affect everything we do without getting boring.. The plot entails much more then I can write here without completely giving it away. It is a plot within a plot, several stories told at once, but since they all affect eachother, it realy is only one story.

This show is a must see, it is not available in the US or other places that require subs yet, but make sure to put this one on your watch list.
